Artist Statement

Chamberlain's practice strives to bridge the gap between humans and nature. It's easy to forget that humans exist within a broader ecosystem and have a complex relationship with other creatures. She explores the idea of humans as mammals and how that fits into the overall human condition. Chamberlain utilizes various mediums and methods, with styles grounded in reality and expanding into fantasy and the surreal. By recontextualizing a human's relationship with the natural world, it may be easier to understand it through an imaginative world or unconventional materials. Her artwork also extends into exploration's queer themes, mental health, and how that relates to personal identities.
